When you place a bid, three things happen:

• The auction price increases by $0.01
• The countdown timer is extended by 10-15 seconds (if under 30 seconds)
• You become the current high bidder

One bid is deducted from your bid balance.

You win by being the last bidder when the countdown timer reaches zero. Every bid extends the timer, so the auction only ends when no one places a new bid before time runs out. When you win, you pay only the final auction price (typically just a few dollars) plus any applicable taxes.

An Auction Insight Token unlocks historical bid data for a specific auction. Open any live auction, tap Auction Insights in the Perks panel, and you’ll see: how many times that item has been auctioned before, the average number of bids before it ends, the lowest price a human bidder ever won it for, and the average final price. One token unlocks one auction’s history.
